FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL THIS COST MORE THAN $395?

Yes. Or at least, it will more than likely cost more than $395. The engine of your watch, called its movement, is comprised of approximately 100 tiny gears, pinions, springs, and jewels. And just like the engine of a car, boat, or airplane, the engine inside your watch requires, not only the routine Replacement of lubricants to reduce friction and heat, but also the periodic replacement of high-friction or high-tension parts (similar to hot your car needs oil changes but also needs new tires, brakes, spark-plugs, etc.).

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE REPAIR TOTAL?

THE SHORT ANSWER: On average, a watch will require 2 or 3 parts and most commonly replaced parts range from $40 to $70 each.

THE BETTER ANSWER: The number of parts a watch will require is greatly influenced by [A] the wearing habits of its owner (how hard they are on it), [B] the length of time since it was last serviced, [C] who last serviced it and whether or not they had access to the most current Rolex literature, parts, tools and lubricants.

THE REAL ANSWER: As frustrating as it may be, there just isn’t a good way to know what the watch will need, and therefore, what the repairs will cost, without having one of our watchmakers inspect and test your movement, which is why we offer free estimates and free shipping. It’s only after we’ve inspected And tested your movement that we can provide you will all of the information that you’ll need to make the best decision for you and your timepiece.

ARE YOU AN “AUTHORIZED” REPAIR LOCATION?

A lot of companies play fast and loose with terminology, such as “authorized”, “certified” or “official” to make it seem as though they are somehow affiliated with Rolex, but the simple truth is that Rolex doesn’t give “authorized” status to any company and to suggest otherwise would be dishonest. We are wholly independent, which is why our prices, policies, and the length of our warranty, can be our own, not Rolex’s. If you are looking to have your watch serviced by Rolex, for most people in the United States this would be at Rolex’s Dallas location, which you can reach at: (833) 765-3900.

ARE YOUR WATCHMAKERS CERTIFIED?

Absolutely. Each of our watchmakers has a minimum certification of CW21 (Certified Watchmaker of the 21st Century) with some holding additional certificates from WOSTEP.

TURNAROUND TIME?

Turnaround times can vary greatly depending on the scope of the repairs being performed, our backlog, and the length of time it takes for the necessary parts to be delivered to us. On average, we will need a watch for between 2 to 4 months, though it is important for you to understand upfront that it can take longer and that we make no guarantees that you will get your watch back within a specific timeframe. Watchmaking isn’t something that can be rushed and kindly request that you select another repair location if quick Rolex repair, or even cheap Rolex repair, are your top priorities when selecting a repair facility. Thank you.

Some but not all parts for Rolex watches manufactured prior to 1978 (for men’s models, 1982 for ladies) are still available. These are the watches with 4-digit reference numbers listed above. We can typically still get most of the parts for these models though we only service these with a reduced 1 year warranty period. We don’t service Rolex sub-brands Tudor or Cellini and Rolex hasn’t yet started to make parts for the new 3200 caliber movements (and above) available to independent parts account holders.
