Genuine Parts

Simple Omega movements are comprised of more than 100 parts. The more complex movements contain more than 300 individual components. Some of these parts require routine replacement to maintain proper functionality to Omega specifications and to preserve the value of your watch year after year. The cost of these parts is in addition to the cost of service (the cost to dismantle, clean and lubricate your movement) which is why we always present a final estimate which you may approve or decline.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DOES “STARTING AT $395” REALLY MEAN?

Omega makes a wide range of watch movements, from very basic time-only movements, to triple-calendar moon-phase chronographs. The more complex movements can house 200 or even 300 individual components, all of which need to be taken apart by hand. This not only requires a lot more time, it requires an expert watchmaker and a skilled, steady hand. And then of course there are parts, many of which require periodic replacement to maintain performance and accuracy standards to Omega specifications.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE REPAIR TOTAL

This is entirely dependent on the age of your watch, the caliber of movement housed inside it, its service history, and your wearing habits (how hard you are on it). As frustrating as it may be, there just isn’t a good way to know what your Omega watch will need without having a qualified watchmaker pop the hood. It’s why we offer free shipping and free estimates. It’s the only way for you, or us, to know exactly what your watch requires.

ARE YOU AN “AUTHORIZED” REPAIR LOCATION?

No, we’re entirely independent.

DO YOU USE GENUINE PARTS?

Yes.

DO YOU HAVE A PARTS ACCOUNT?

Our watchmakers do, not us. Omega doesn’t issue parts accounts to companies, they issue them to watchmakers. Any CW-21 certified watchmaker can purchase the requisite tools and equipment, take the Omega caliber accreditation courses, then apply for a parts account with Omega. Omega offers several tiers of parts account access to independent watchmakers depending on their level of expertise and based on the equipment and calibers they’ve been trained on.

TURNAROUND TIME?

It’s been years since the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic and Omega has yet to return to full staffing at its internal service centers, including its parts distribution division. Parts often take a month or longer to arrive and our watchmakers can’t even place a parts order until you’ve approved your repair estimate. Most jobs are complete within 6 to 12 weeks from the date on which the repair estimate was approved but, as we don’t control the manufacturing or distribution of Omega service replacement parts, we can’t guarantee that it won’t take longer.

CAN YOU SERVICE ANY OMEGA WATCH?

No. Some early Omega watches have movements that Omega, or their parent company SWATCH GROUP, didn’t manufacture and others that they’ve simply stopped manufacturing replacement parts for, while the parts for some newer Omega watches haven’t yet been made available to independent watchmakers. In general, we can service most Omega watch movements manufactured during the last 50 years. Not sure if we can serve your Omega watch? Ask, we’re happy to help!
